Once a Stranger Now my best Friend
I grew up knowing him as the head of the family. His every word would be followed with utter respect His every word after much thought would be his final decision
When in need of something My cry would pass through mom to him My mom was then a mediator between me and my father Although strict and authoritarian at times He was definitely one tough yet loving stranger.
Afraid of being criticized or punished I always tried to abide by his words
But little did I imagine at that time What would it be to walk in his footsteps…
He is... A man who loves my mom A man who loves his kids in his own way A man that worked hard so that we got the best A man that just had little to pick from So that we could have countless to choose A man then I found difficult to understand Today I admire him as one of my precious gifts Bestowed to me by my god
Once afraid of my father Today I feel I can tell him everything and anything Being a girl it’s difficult at times to share certain things with your father But my dad somehow bridged that gap between us
I am happy to say like any proud daughter That I love My stranger …My Father …My Best Friend
